On 27 February 2026, the MASSTRUCT Project hosted an Open Lab Day at the Politis Lab (Room 306/307) at Biomedical Sciences Research Center Alexander Fleming.

The event introduced participants to Hydrogen–Deuterium Exchange Mass Spectrometry (HDX-MS), a powerful analytical technique used to study protein structure, dynamics, and interactions. A total of 15 participants attended the event and had the opportunity to observe how HDX-MS experiments are performed and learn about its applications in structural biology research.

Highlights of the event

  • Introduction to the principles of HDX-MS
  • Demonstration of real-time data acquisition
  • Overview of HDX-MS data analysis workflows
  • Discussion of research applications in biomolecular and structural studies
